Thanks for stopping by my site! I’m David, a writer, editor, and creative content producer—among many other names—living in Brooklyn, New York.

Call me a content strategist, an agent of brand language, an ed-tech enthusiast, or a grammar geek; there’s not one title that fits me best. I like to put my active imagination to work and express my creativity in content that can take a whole host of different forms. (And if I don’t exercise my brain often, I don’t feel like myself!)

Most of my professional experience lies in creative content production, editorial writing, copywriting, editing, video performance and production, podcasting and audio (including voiceover acting), digital marketing, and language learning curriculum design, especially for the Spanish language—my first true love and the catalyst for my education in linguistics.

I’ve spent years in the field of education technology, helping promote digital products that make learning of all kinds more engaging and accessible. Whether through my work at Dictionary.com, at Quizlet, or at the language learning app Babbel, I’ve delighted in helping make learning a more seamless, enjoyable, and equitable process. I’m well suited to help tech brands like these connect with their users and craft and share their tools — and their stories — with the world.

As a seasoned editorial writer, I love to chase and share a compelling narrative. I’ve interviewed the winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, the artist of an entirely underwater allegorical sculpture museum, and a Cape Town-based activist on trial with Nelson Mandela and imprisoned for 22 years for his role in anti-apartheid civil unrest. My storytelling adventures have taken me to Southeast Asia, South Africa, Europe and all around the United States. And I hope that’s just the beginning!

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018 as a Morehead-Cain Scholar with a dual degree in history and linguistics and a diverse course load in journalism and information science, all of which have given me a well-rounded, critical approach to contextual storytelling and to the foundations of holistic and effective research, communication, and wordcraft.

When I’m not click-clacking away at my keyboard, I like to spend my time shooting amateur iPhone photography, journaling, crossword puzzling, hiking, jogging and picnicking in Prospect Park, playing Settlers of Catan, dancing in every setting imaginable, and discovering new music (to which I can’t help but harmonize, much to the dismay of my roommates).

Check out some of my work through the menu on the right, and feel free to shoot me a message. I’m always looking for new connections, adventures, and problems to solve!
